Melanie was born in Solaris but when she was 5 her mother left her and her father and so she had to be the one to raise herself. She even took care of her father as she got older. But as a small child she grew up not knowing what to do as a little girl. She relied on her best friend and her friends mom to help her with girl stuff. Her friends mom was a cocktail waitress and might be the reason that Melanie started waitressing when she turned 21. Melanie never went to college. She worked and took care of her dad and their home, until she lost her dad when she was 22. Now she lives alone and works at the casino.
